A friend has sent me pictures from Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok, where a large statue tells the story of The Churning of the Milk Ocean.
This is a Hindu legend in which the gods and demons worked together to recover several lost treasures. It didn’t quite work out as they expected, and the story can be seen as a metaphor for the times that we are living through.
