A realisation

CO2 is like an invisible blanket or duvet surrounding the earth.

We have already created a duvet thick enough to warm the earth by two degrees, even if we stopped all emissions now. But we have only just snuggled under that ‘duvet’, and are still warming up.

Every car we drive*, every plane we fly*, every meal we cook* makes the situation worse — adds more CO2 to the blanket, makes the tog-rating higher.

Sandy (2012) was bigger than Irene (2011).

The next Hurricane Sandy will be even bigger.
